Description
A good starting point for growers who want to compare hardneck and softneck types side by side. This sampler includes one quarter pound each of Music (Porcelain hardneck) and Inchelium Red (Artichoke softneck), giving you roughly 8 to 12 seed cloves per variety depending on bulb size.
Music is our most popular variety: big, firm cloves with a full garlic flavor that holds up in cooking and cures well for winter storage. Inchelium Red is milder and sweeter, ideal if you want garlic that stores through spring or you'd like to try your hand at braiding.
Growing both in the same season is a practical way to learn which type suits your kitchen and your soil. New to growing garlic? See our complete growing guide for step-by-step planting instructions.
When Your Order Arrives
Remove the garlic from the shipping box as soon as it arrives. Store in a dry, open-air location with good airflow. Do not leave it sealed in the box.
If you are in a warm-winter region (zones 8 and warmer), refrigerate your seed garlic for 6 to 8 weeks at 35 to 40 degrees F before planting. See our vernalization guide for full instructions.
Shipping now. Order now to lock in your favorite varieties — several are already low in stock or sold out for the season and won't be restocked until next year.
