Donostia Red is a Creole hardneck that tolerates mild winters far better than Porcelain, Rocambole, or Purple Stripe types, delivering sharp, assertive heat that mellows into rich flavor with cooking, and storing 9 to 10 months. Inchelium Red is our top softneck pick, mild and sweet with exceptional storage, and known for overachieving even from small seed stock in zones 7 to 9.
Together they cover both garlic types with none of the vernalization headaches most hardnecks bring to southern gardens.
Each pack includes approximately 8 to 12 seed cloves per variety, enough to trial both in a single season.
